Remembering a Remarkable Educator, Leader, and Public Servant General Mercedes Foronda

 

It is with profound sadness that the Federation of Authors in Criminology & Criminal Justice, Inc. (FACCI) mourns the passing of JCSUPT. Mercedes "Chedeng" Aguinea Foronda (Ret.)—one of FACCI's pioneering members, a distinguished educator, an unwavering advocate for justice, and a dedicated public servant.

 

As one of the visionaries who helped establish FACCI, Ma'am Chedeng played an instrumental role in advancing the organization's mission of promoting excellence in criminology and criminal justice education. Her wisdom, leadership, and steadfast commitment to scholarship inspired fellow authors, educators, practitioners, and generations of students.

Ma'am Chedeng stood firmly for justice and lived a life defined by integrity, compassion, and selfless service. She believed in the transformative power of education and devoted herself to nurturing future criminologists who would serve society with honor and professionalism.

 

The FACCI family extends its heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, colleagues, former students, and everyone whose lives were touched by her kindness and dedication.

Though Ma'am Chedeng has departed from this world, her legacy will continue to live on through the institution she helped build, the profession she faithfully served, and the countless lives she inspired.

 

Rest in eternal peace, Ma'am Chedeng. Your life of service, your unwavering pursuit of justice, and your passion for education will forever remain a guiding light for the FACCI family and the entire criminology community.
