Extent of Satisfaction with Security Measures Among Boarding Houses in Central Philippine State University (CPSU) Main Campus

Abstract

This descriptive study investigates the extent of satisfaction with security measures among boarding houses at CPSU Main Campus, where the high density of student housing necessitates robust protocols to protect individuals and property. Using a validated researcher-made questionnaire, data were collected from 45 boarding house owners through total and complete enumeration. Statistical tools included the mean, standard deviation, and the Kruskal-Wallis test to identify differences across demographic profiles. Findings revealed that owners generally “Agree” with the current level of satisfaction regarding security measures. While safety policies, security lighting, and perimeter barriers received high agreement, satisfaction with CCTV systems remained neutral, due to financial barriers. No significant difference in satisfaction was found across various boarding house profiles. The researchers conclude that while owners find existing measures effective for daily safety, advanced security technology is underutilized. Recommendations include conducting security seminars for owners, implementing regular inspections by the CPSU Security Office, and encouraging the installation of CCTV to further enhance tenant well-being.
