Abstract

Human Rights-Based Policing (HRBP) is arduous, challenging, and complex. The purpose of the study was to determine the mediating effect of adversity response on the relationship between organizational climate and service quality of police officers in the implementation of human rights-based policing. The respondents of this study were the 948 police officers from Police Regional Office XI selected through a complete enumeration sampling technique. Three adapted instruments were used to gather the data from the respondents. The tools used in analyzing the data were Mean, Pearson r, Regression, and Medgraph using Sobel z-test. Results showed that police officers in Southern Mindanao posted a high level of organizational climate, a moderate level of adversity response, and a high level of service quality. Findings also revealed a significant relationship between organizational climate and service quality. However, between adversity response and service quality, the two variables show no significant relationship. Further, it was found that adversity response significantly mediates the relationship between organizational climate and service quality of police officers in implementing human rights-based policing in Southern Mindanao.
